I've been running the older version of this air purifier 24 X 7 for over 10 years...maybe 12. It is backed up against a wall in a vaulted-ceiling room between a piano and organ where cats like to play. It takes up very little space and consumes a great deal of dust and hair. The exhaust blows straight up the wall which is perfect for this location. Recently, it began emitting a high-pitch, undulating squeal. I assumed that the sealed bearing on the motor shaft was wearing out. So, I ordered this new Hunter Air Purifier.
