Once this fan is installed, it works well and looks great. The specialty bulb is a loser, and the fact the light cannot be switched independently from the wall switch is poor design. THere are also several important omissions in the poorly written instructions. The remote receiver needs to be laboriously wired to the fan (approximately 10 separate wires, poorly labeled). It took two senior Electrical Engineers 4 hours to install this fan, so plan on paying a few hundred bucks or more for an installation. Sadly, the fan looks great and works great once installed, but has some major issues in the instructions, assembly and light bulb choice.
